Braves Game Review
Posted on July 4, 2009 | Filed Under West Rome, XL
We had a great time at the Rome Braves game last night. We had over 200 people from our church out there and we had a blast. Thanks to all of you that were able to come and be a part of the fun. I hope you all enjoyed yourselves and took the opportunity to meet some new people.
Remember, we’re starting a new series on The Acts of the Church tomorrow morning. Don’t miss it.
Also, there is NO XL tomorrow night. We’ll be back on next week and it will be huge.
Happy 4th of July. Have a great day.

The Acts of the Church
Posted on July 1, 2009 | Filed Under West Rome, XL
Good morning everyone. I want to share with you a little about where we’re headed this Sunday. As you know, it’s the July 4th weekend so we will not be having XL Sunday night, or Sunday night services at West Rome. Go enjoy the evening and meet some people that you can bring with you next week.
I want to encourage you to be here Sunday morning. We are starting a new series called “The Acts of the Church” and I believe God is going to teach us some awesome things. We’ll start this week in Acts 1 and 2 and see what God shows us about the beginning of the church and what our responsibility is today. I think it will challenge us and encourage us at the same time. So, come home from the lake for a couple of hours Sunday morning to be with us.
For those of you going to the Braves game Friday night, we’ll see you then. We’ll probably see most of you in the park on Saturday for the big fireworks show. That should be good and hot!!! Either way, have a safe weekend and we’ll see you all Sunday morning.

Back to Blogging
Posted on June 29, 2009 | Filed Under West Rome, XL
So, through a survey about how our church attenders get information about the church, I found out that a good number of our people read blogs. Now, I’m not saying that they’re reading this blog, since I’ve done a terrible job of keeping it updated. However, I am going to begin to use this spot to keep all of our people informed on what’s going on at West Rome and XL. And, along with that, we’ll talk about some cool things God is teaching us all along the way.
A couple of reminders: XL and West Rome will both be cancelled this Sunday night for the July 4th holiday. XL will be starting a new series the next week on the Ultimate Fighting Champion. West Rome will be starting something new this week as well. You don’t want to miss either of them.
Also, we have some tickets left for the July 3rd Braves game. You can get those at the West Rome office or pick them up Wed night.
That’s all for now, but keep checking in. I will be posting and making sure you can stay up to date with all the latest info.
Peace,

Knowing Who You Are
Posted on May 13, 2009 | Filed Under What I'm learning
One of the most amazing things that God has taught us during our fast is to remember who He has made us. We talked two Sundays ago about how big God is and that was just amazing. It was so awesome to look at God telling Moses that His name is “I AM”. He always has been, always will be, and is today I AM!!! That is so cool to me. Along with that, this last Sunday we talked about what that makes us as His children. We spend too much time thinking we’re nothing when God has made us His children. We think we are helpless and weak when God has told us we have total access to Him. We think we don’t have value when God sent His only Son to die on the cross to “purchase” us and make us His own. The enemy would like nothing more than to steal your identity and convince you that you are not who God says that you are. Today, fight off the enemy by reminding yourself of all the great things that God has made you. He chose you, bought you, and loves you completely. Don’t let anyone tell you anything other than that.
Peace!

21 Day Fast - The Day After
Posted on April 27, 2009 | Filed Under West Rome, What I'm learning
Good morning everyone. I have to say, it was a beautiful day getting up and eating some stuff that I haven’t had for a while. I know many of you are too busy drinking your fourth cup of coffee to read this right now, buy you’ll get to it later. We had a great day, yesterday, celebrating what God has done in our lives over the last 21 days. Relationships are being healed, people’s financial situations are being corrected, and people are being saved. How awesome is that?!!! God has come through on His promises that He always blesses our sacrifice. However, I still don’t think He’s done. I know that He has even bigger things planned for His church and it really fires me up that He allows me to be a part of it. There is no place in the world I’d rather be.
My prayer now is that we will all step up to the challenge and allow God to continue to work in our lives as He has over this time. The last thing I want to do is starting eating more and stop spending my time with Him. He must remain the priority. He has reminded me through this fast that He is the sustainer, not what I eat. I pray that our whole church family is never the same again.
