We’re headed out!

Posted on May 25, 2007 | Filed Under Family, XL

Well, it’s almost time for my family to make our traditional stop at the Sonic as we head out to Texas.  I’m driving them out there so they can be with the rest of the family while I go to Canada.  God is doing some really cool things in Canada right now and I’m pretty fired up about that.  The team and I will be flying out to Medicine Hat, Alberta, on Tuesday.

However, I WILL BE BACK for Sunday night, June 3rd, and you should be too.  At XL that night, we will have something happening on stage that even we haven’t tried yet.  This will be the last night of our LifeSwap series and, trust me, you DO NOT want to miss this.

Go find every person you know, and then some that you don’t know, and bring them with you.  They will have a blast, and the message will never be more clear than it will be that night.

I’ll be thinking about you all while I’m in Texas eating tons of Mexican Food anb BBQ.  Have a great Memorial Day Weekend.  Be safe, and I’ll see you next Sunday night.

My Hero: Jeremy Schwanbeck

I have got to tell you about one of my new heroes in this world.  His name is Jeremy Schwanbeck.  He works for a place called Randstad.  His job is to find people jobs, and to find jobs people.  This is an amazing thing.  If you need someone to wash your car every Saturday afternoon, I’m sure Jeremy can find you someone that would love to do just that.  If you’re starting a new business here in Rome, and you need some great people to work for you, just give Jeremy a call.  I think he’s so cool that he might even come to work for you himself just to help you out.  I’m hoping he’ll be the one to come wash my truck.

I’m tellin’ ya, if you need people, Jeremy’s your man!

This Week at XL

Just a reminder that we WILL NOT be meeting at XL this Sunday night.  Our hope is that you will spend this Sunday night spending time with your friends that you want to come with you to XL.  Go have some fun and enjoy the holiday with all your friends, but make sure you mention XL to them.  June 3rd is going to stinkin’ rock and you don’t want to miss it.  The message will relate in some way to every person in the room that night.  The illustration is going to be awesome.  Bring every friend you have.  God will show up.

NBA Playoffs

Posted on May 22, 2007 | Filed Under Pointless Rambling

So, I was pretty disappointed when the Suns got beat by the Spurs in the NBA Playoffs the other night.  I’m not really a Suns fan, but when the heart-free Mavs lost in the first round, I kind of went to them.  Most people would think that, since I’m from Texas, I would be a Spurs fan.  You know, I’ve never really been a huge Duncan fan.  I mean, if I wanted to watch technically correct, perfectly disciplined basketball, where every shot has to be off the backboard, I’d watch girls play.  Now, that should get me some comments.

Come on Labron.  Let’s see what you can do!

Sunday Night from the Recliner

Posted on May 20, 2007 | Filed Under Sunday Night Updates, XL

Man, it always feels so good to sit in the ol’ recliner after another great, and tiring Sunday.  The really cool part is that, even though we are all worn out every Sunday night, people are still hearing the Gospel every week.  Tonight was a great night. We learned that the only life worth swapping ours for is the one God has planned for us.  He has a great plan and He is always working to make that plan happen.  And, the very best part:  God will NEVER leave us alone!!  He’s so cool.
