Starbucks Report

Ok, we’ve already talked about how crazy it is that I’m even in a Starbucks, but here’s what I’m learning. You had to know this was coming.

1. I’m pretty sure the workers think that at some point today they are going to be robbed. BY ME! I mean, how many times do you see a 270 pound 6’5″ guy sitting in the corner of a Starbucks for two hours, working on his computer and drinking Diet Giant Peach Green Tea. I’m pretty sure the SWAT team is waiting outside to come in and kill me at any moment.

2. Diet Giant Peach Green Tea. Ok, it’s not green, which confuses me. It does help, but is confusing. However, I think I had to buy it because it said Giant on it. Of course it’s 13 oz. and gone in two sips, but it tried.

3. They are pushing these peanut butter cookies to everyone. I just think of anything more manly than going by the Starbucks on the way home from my construction job and ordering an Expresso and having the blessing of being offered a nice, warm, peanut butter cookie. Do you remember on tv when men used to go by the bar and shoot pool and drink a beer on the way home. I’m not saying that’s a good idea. I’m just noticing that the times are a changing.

4. There is a group of 4 people here, probably 20 years old. They came in and got there “stuff” (I don’t even get it) and sat down. Once they had been there a few minutes they went to a table outside. Then, they moved to a different table outside. Now, about an hour later, they are back in here hanging out again. Don’t these people have anything better to do than sit around here all day and drink stuff. Oh, wait a minute…

5. Do you remember the show, Cheers? This seems to be kind of like that. Except, without the cool theme song and the mail man. They do, however, seem to have a big guy sitting in the corner. NORM!!!

6. I have yet to hear anyone come in and order a HUGE Diet Coke, and TRIPLE CHEESEBURGER, and a SUPER DUPER size fry. Why do they even build these places???

Sunday Night Report from STARBUCKS??????

WOW, who would have ever thought that Jarrod would be doing him Sunday Night Report from a Starbucks? As a matter of fact, who ever thought he would even go IN a Starbucks. Now that the shock is over, here is the update from Sunday.

What a night!!! We had a huge number of people there to start our Transformer Series. The stage was amazing. The set design was about the coolest yet. I still have to give some credit to the airplane wing for the LOST series, but this was pretty close.

The Band was all over it. We let them do their whole set over after the message, and everyone loved it. I do happen to know that BeeJ has his guitar hooked up with a wireless system and CAN play from outside. So, you never know where he may be coming from.

Anyway, God showed us that he is all about transforming our lives into something that can be used to do what He originally built us to do. We learned that He doesn’t expect us to be perfect all the time, but He does give us the power to do everything He calls us to do.

Make sure you’re here next week for the last week of this series. We’ll be talking about “How to Live the Transformed Life”. I think it will help us all to know what God expects from us DURING this transformation.

And, if for nothing else, you really need to come see the stage and hear the band. WOW!!!

Transformers: Tomorrow Night

I don’t know if you’ve seen the movie yet, but it rocks! Tomorrow night we start our Transformers Series at XL. The stage has been completely redesigned. We’ve had a great team in there all week getting everything ready. The band is just gonna go crazy.

If you’re not at XL tomorrow night, you’re out of your mind!!!
