Jury Duty

Here’s a little advice for you. There is NOTHING that will get you out of jury duty faster than the statement “I’m the Pastor of West Rome Baptist Church.” WOW, they’ll kick you out of there so quick you won’t even remember what courtroom you were in. The problem is that you still have to go through the process. They should just let me call that in so we don’t have to waist their time AND MINE. By the way, you’re more than welcome to use that statement if you need to. I’m not really the Pastor either but it worked for me.

Sunday Night Update from the Tuesday Night Recliner

Ok, I’m doing this post out of spite because Mickey heckled me for not posting often enough. However, Sunday night was a great time. We ended up our SPAM series with a message on “Living the Distracted Life”. I think it was a great night and the great end of the series. One really cool thing is that God keeps bringing new people and getting them involved in what He is doing. That is our whole plan. Seeing people get involved and having their lives changed. WOW!!!

Good Day of College Football

I just have to say that there are a lot of things in life that I appreciate. A&M kicked some tail in there opening day game. I do understand that they weren’t playing the super power house that lsu defeated last week, but it’ll do for a start. Michigan got upset and that’s never a bad thing. However, I must say, the HIGHEST point in my day had to be seeing notre dame get beat like they stole something. Understand, I’m not really a big georgia tech fan, but I HATE notre dame. We all do understand that they will still be in the national championship hunt at the end of the year because, well, they’re notre dame. They could have 4 losses and someone would think they should get a shot. NOTHING makes me much happier than seeing them get beat, I don’t care who they’re playing.
