I’m Back!
Posted on December 30, 2007 | Filed Under Sunday Night Updates, XL
Well, hello everyone! I gotta tell you, it is very frustrating for me to be on vacation these days because of the lack of high speed internet. I had to go sit outside of Dairy Queen just to get on line with my computer. And, it’s very hard to type those huge emails from your cell phone. Anyway, I’m just glad to be sitting back in the good ol’ recliner here in Georgia. So, I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. We had a great time with the family, but it’s always good to be home.
We had a great day at West Rome this morning. God is really going to do some amazing things in the future to reach Rome for His Kingdom. I’m just looking forward to seeing it and making sure I’m praying that I can be a part of it. It is a real blessing to all of us that God chooses to use us for things He could do without us.
XL did not meet tonight but it will be back next Sunday. It has been a good two week break but I am REALLY ready to get back at it. The next series is called “The New Year’s Revolution”. I think it is time for XL to step up to the responsibility we have to see God reach Rome. This means it’s time to start a revolution. I am so fired up about that!!! God is going to show off and bring His power in all kinds of new ways, and I am so looking forward to that. So, be there this Sunday and we’ll kick off the new year with the start of The New Year’s Revolution. Enjoy your one or two day diets, and we’ll see you Sunday night.

Off to Texas
Posted on December 20, 2007 | Filed Under Family, Pointless Rambling, XL
Merry Christmas everybody. Ok, so I haven’t been in the posting mood lately. I’ll get over it one day. However, I’m leaving in a few hours to head to Texas for Christmas. Hopefully Santa can find us in another state. Anyway, I will be lucky to even be able to read email during the holidays so I’ll probably have to start up my posting again when I get back. I know that you will all be eagerly waiting for my future posts. Well, just be patient. They’re coming.
So, if you’re up at 3:00 AM tomorrow, give me a call. I’ll be driving through Louisiana.
All of you have a wonderful Christmas and I’ll look forward to seeing you when I get back. Remember to check out xlwired.com on Sunday the 23rd for the best Christmas video message ever.
Peace,
PS.
Craig, try not to write anything inappropriate on your blog while I’m gone.
Jason, don’t write anything inappropriate about Craig on your blog unless you email me and let me know you did it. I wouldn’t want to miss that.
David, please do not shoot anyone while I’m gone.
Gina, tell Billie I said Hey!
Mickey, remember, even if you’re alone, we’re with ya!

Sunday Night Update from the Recliner
Posted on December 9, 2007 | Filed Under Sunday Night Updates
What a day!!! It started out with a great service at West Rome this morning. There are some interesting things happening there. I’ll have to tell you all about that some other day. Trust me, I’m done with it today.
At XL tonight we started our MythBusters series. Man, we had some great video to show some of the myths about XL. It was hilarious. You’ll need to go to Jason’s blog to see some great video of Gina. Hector brought a band tonight to give our band a break for a couple of weeks. Man, they rocked!!! That’s one thing you can guarantee your friends when you invite them. No matter what the night, or what the series, our band is gonna rock!
In the message tonight we talked about some of the myths that people have about XL. I know it surprises you but we really do teach the Bible. God is doing some awesome things out there and I am fired up about it.
We had about 300 people again tonight. I am just more and more amazed every week with what God is doing and the people that He is bringing. I’m also fired up about the fact that the people of XL are always willing to bring their friends. That shows you’re doing something right.
Next week we’ll be talking about some of the myths that the world has about Jesus. During the holiday season, we should be able to find plenty of examples to use. Come see us if you can. We’d love to have you.

Sunday Night from the Recliner
Posted on December 3, 2007 | Filed Under Sunday Night Updates
Man, what a night. Tonight was the last night of our Free Lunch series at XL. We gave away a 1969 VW Bug to Mike. We drew 10 names out of the tumbler and let each one of them choose a key. Mike was the lucky guy whose key opened the box with the car keys in it. He was fired up and that is awesome! I think he’s gonna love that car.
So the facts for the night are: 537 people in the main room. (By far our biggest crowd yet.) 50 kids and 7 workers in our children’s area. Around 80 people in the Preschool area for a totatl of around 675. These are not the exact numbers because I haven’t gotten those yet. However, we had almost 700 people there tonight. WOW!!!!!
We also had a number of people tell us that they love what we’re doing and they will be back every week. Awesome! We want everyone to know that they are loved and welcomed at XL.
Next week starts our MythBusters series. I’m fired up! There is simply NO telling what God may do next.

Big Day Tomorrow
Posted on December 2, 2007 | Filed Under XL
We’ve got a HUGE day planned for tomorrow. We start with our Christmas Musical at West Rome in the morning. That is gonna be awesome. And then, tomorrow night is the BIG night. We’re shootin’ for 1000 people to be there to try and win that car. What a great chance to tell lots of people about the hope that Jesus offers us for our lives. Come early and get your seat. There probably won’t be enough for everyone. WOW!!!
