Down Time Stinks

Man, my last post was the first one where I used that much Scripture and the whole site went down for 5 days. That is some pretty serious stuff. Anyway, it’s good to be back. My email is still not working for some reason, but at least the blog page is back.

Make sure you’re at XL the next couple of weeks. We’ll be talking about the part that EACH of us plays in the New Year’s Revolution.

Have a great day.

What God’s Sayin’

Posted on January 9, 2008 | Filed Under What I'm learning, XL

Hey Guys,
I got a few minutes this morning to read throught the book of Philippians. I’m just linking the whole book because I don’t have an easy way to link all of the individual verses that I’ll use. Anyway, here is what I got out of it. Do with it what you will.

Philippians 1:
1:6 – Be confident that, when God starts a good work in you, HE will complete it.
1:9-11 This is my prayer for all of us: That we will know God so well that we can tell what He is saying to us and we know exactly what He wants us to do.
1:12 – If the tough things that I go through actually serve to advance His Kingdom, I’m all good with that.
1:14 – I pray that, even through my “chains” people will be encouraged to share God’s love even more. Ask God how you can use your “tough issues” to encourage others to live more for God.
1:15-17 – I want my life to push people to seek after God.
1:19 – If you’re seeking God, whatever happens to you WILL turn our for your deliverance.
1:27 – Whatever happens, live in a way that is worthy of Christ. Whatever happens!!!

Chapter 2
2:3 – Always choose humility. This is hard to do in today’s world, but it always works out best for us in the end.
2:5 – My attitude should be the same as that of Jesus. WOW!!!
2:9 – GOD exalted Jesus after Jesus had humbled Himself. Again, the humility.
It is our job to humble ourselves. If God chooses at some point to exalt us, that’s His deal.
2:14 – Stop complaining. It is very difficult to complain a lot AND be focused on your own humility.
2:21 – People normally look out for themselves before Christ.

Chapter 3
3:7 – Paul considered all of his “legalistic righteousness” worthless when compared to knowing Christ.
3:12 – We should press on to the goal that Jesus has for us.
3:13 – Forgetting doesn’t mean forgetting. It means to learn from, deal with, and move on.
3:16 – God really expects us to live up to what we already know. Therefore, if you spend all of your time looking for what is next, and you are not living out what God has already shown you, you will have a problem.
3:18-19 – If you are an enemy of Christ, your mind is on earthly things.

Chapter 4
4:6 Stop worrying about stuff and tell God about it. He’ll handle it.
4:8 Think about Godly things. Don’t dwell on the junk of this world.
4:13 – Yes, you can!
4:19 – Yes, He will!

As an extra:
Psalm 4:8
You can lie down and sleep in peace when you know God is in control!

Have a great day.
