Sunday Night Update
Posted on October 26, 2008 | Filed Under Sunday Night Updates, West Rome
SHUT-UP!!!!! This has been an amazing day!! We started this morning by baptizing 4 children and 1 adult at West Rome. Then, at the end of the service, we had 14 people make some decision about Christ. Five of these were giving their lives to Christ and starting a life changing relationship with Him!! How awesome is that??!!!! That is SO why we do what we do. I am excited to get to work tomorrow and see who all of them were and get started with discipleship for all of them. WOW, what a day.
Then, we get to XL tonight. We started a series called Tattoo. Basically, most people that get a tattoo do it because it means something about their life. It is part of “their story”. Well, tonight, Rachel Pennacchio told her story and it rocked. There was some part of her story that related to everyone in the room. It was magnificant! She told it like she has been speaking for years. God has truly developed this story in her and He is using it to change other peoples lives. All of the music was great and it as just a great night overall. Thanks Rach for allowing God to use you and your story.
I’m just looking forward to what God has in store for next week. Have a great one!

Sunday Night Update
Posted on October 19, 2008 | Filed Under Sunday Night Updates
What a great day. We had a wonderful day today. This morning was a sweet time of worship and we saw at least a couple of people give their lives to Christ at the end of the service. I’m not sure on all the facts yet. We also had some people join our church which is also a great thing. God really blessed our time this morning and that fires me up. It really fires me up to know how unworthy I am to be used by God to do the things He does, but He still uses me. WOW!!!
Then, tonight was great too. I believe everyone their was highly challenged to step up to the standards that God has called us to. The really cool part was that I saw a good number of new people. I’m always thankful when our people decide to bring their friends so they can hear about Christ too.
So, for another Sunday, God is good and He continues to amaze. Thank you God for letting me do what I do.
Peace,

My Wife Rocks!
Posted on October 18, 2008 | Filed Under Family
Tiffany left town for the weekend to go to Mississippi to see Analisa with some friends. I was glad that she got to go because it knew it would be great for her to get out for a while with friends and just have a good time. For me, this meant that I would be with the children without her from Thursday to Saturday night. One of the major issues was that I had a wedding this weekend which meant I would have a rehearsal dinner on Friday night and the wedding on Saturday. Then, as the weekend went on, things just kept getting added to the schedule. We had a birthday that I had not remembered since Tiff was out of town and a bike ride where I needed to go pray. It was quite the amazingly busy day. Now, as I sit here with everyone pretty quiet, just about asleep, I am reminded of just how awesome my wife is. I go away two or three times a year and leave her with them for two or three days at a time, and she always handles it. Sometimes she even tells me to take time away so that I can study and prepare for future series. She’s just amazing. I am very thankful for her and the love that she has for me and our children. Well, she’s home now, so I’m out. I just thank God for my great wife!!!

A Sunday Off
Posted on October 13, 2008 | Filed Under Sunday Night Updates, West Rome, XL
Wow, what a day I had on Sunday. It was so refreshing to be able to go to West Rome and XL and just be a part of what was going on. Here are some of the great things that I noticed from the back. First, at West Rome, Chris did a super job of bringing the message. God really spoke through him and he was totally comfortable on the stage. That just means that God is working through him and he did a superb job. And, Cliff, well he just always rocks. It was really great to get to sit in the back one week and watch our people get involved in the worship time. They truly do love the Lord and love to worship Him and Cliff just does a super job of leading them to His throne each week.
Then, at XL, man, Craig did an awesome job. I was so fired up for him. For one thing, it was just a great, high energy night all the way around. The band did great and they set Craig up perfectly. And, Craig just did great. Of course, he had to go and call me out on a couple of things but I’ll let him slide this time.
One of the coolest things I recognized about the day is that, if I was a guest at either West Rome or XL, I would come back. Everyone on staff and all of the greeters just did great work and I love being a part of these places. Tiffany and I did think about what we wanted to do since we were off for the day, but I just couldn’t think of anything better to do than go to church. And, not just any church, but our church. I really did not want to miss what was going to happen at WR or XL. That kind of fires me up.
One other thing I learned: When we build a new building one day, it probably won’t have a balcony. I sat under the balcony Sunday and it’s just hard to engage from back there. Of course, the big column in my way didn’t help, but for some reason, it’s just hard to get a real feel of what’s happening in the room from underneath there.
So, for both XL and West Rome, great job to everyone involved in making both of them happen. God is so using our staff and our volunteers to help people find and follow His plan for their lives. That is what it’s all about and I’m proud to be able to be your Pastor.
God bless you all!

Sponsoring “The Mick”
Posted on October 13, 2008 | Filed Under Pointless Rambling
Don’t miss this opportunity to sponsor “The Mick”. That would be Mickey Seward for those of you that don’t know. I’ve decided that Mickey is such a special person that he deserves sponsorships just for being “The Mick”. Only Mickey, and Christy, truly understand how tough it is to be “The Mick” all day everyday. You have to plan your lunch by 9:00AM. You are required to drive a car with ONLY one hub cap. He just couldn’t be “The Mick” with two or more hubcaps. Plus, he’s the only fan the Detroit Lions still have. Sure, it’s tough being “The Mick” but my man Mick can get it done. Just respond on this site with your business name and logo to have it put on the shirt. We’ll be collecting for a little while. Of course jarrodroberts.com will be sponsoring him. I know he LOVES to read this blog so I wouldn’t dare let this opportunity pass me by. I’ll post some possible designs soon!
Give it up for “The Mick” everybody!!!!!
