I hope you didn’t miss it!

I told you last week not to miss today at West Rome. We had an incredible time this morning. Johnny Rohrbeck and his band came and led us in worship. God’s Spirit fell all over the place and it was so obvious. We had about 65 teenagers there this morning that had Disciple Now this weekend. They were all sleepy but you could tell that God has done something special in their lives this weekend. And, then for the big, new ministry. We are kicking off our ministry to children with special needs in our community. Chris Lodge brought a great message and then Dr. Paul Walker followed up with some amazing stats that will just blow your mind about the children in our community. God has made it very clear that we are to lead our in this ministry area. I don’t ever want to hear again that a parent had to miss church because no one could take care of their child. And, I sure don’t want another child to miss hearing about Jesus. It is going to be amazing to see what God is going to do. We are so blessed to be able to play a role in this ministry. God is good and He has a great plan!
Don’t miss next week. You never can tell what’s gonna happen when we get together.
Make sure you take time this week to invest in people. God will bless that.
We also had a great time at XL tonight. We stopped right in the middle of the service to watch the end of the football game. Just another thing that makes us a little different. One other thing is that we had 50 people in the XL Kidz area. That is HUGE!!! We also learned that the Bible sets the standard for how we should make the major decisions in our lives. If we set the standards up front, we have lot better chance of making the right decision! God is constantly teaching us some really cool things.
Be ready for the Superbowl party on Feb. 1st. It’s gonna be a blast!!!

God is showing off!
Posted on January 10, 2009 | Filed Under West Rome, What I'm learning, XL
It is just simply awesome to see all that God is doing right now at West Rome and XL. Sunday night we baptized 7 people at XL and this Sunday morning we’re baptizing one more at West Rome. This past Wednesday night a young man gave his life to Christ in one of the offices at West Rome. I get REALLY fired up when people give their lives to Christ and it’s not even Sunday. I don’t know why, but that just does it for me. I just have to brag on God for a while. He is blessing the ministry way more than anything we could ever deserve. He continues to poor out His Spirit on the church in an amazing way. I am so thankful for a church family that understands what God has called them to do. It really is amazing how much God will do through you when you line up with what He has planned. Our people are learning that and God is blessing them for it. Amazing!! I just pray that we will continue to seek after Him and allow Him to work His plan through us.
Peace,

Jordan turns 7!!
Posted on January 7, 2009 | Filed Under Family
WOW!!! Today, the 7th, is the day that my beautiful daughter Jordan turns 7. She is fired up about her birthday coming and I am fired up for her. She has such a beautiful spirit, when she gets excited about something it just brings excitment to everyone around her. She has such a joy in her heart that really shows at times like this.
Let me tell you a little about her.
She is Jordan Kay named after her Granny, and she actually shares her birthday with that same Granny. She really loves that.
She is a fire ball. She has more energy than anyone I have ever met. Then, we she lays down for about 1 minute at night, she’s gone. When she’s asleep you can’t wake her up, but once she’s up you can’t slow her down.
She cares about people. She loves her family and loves her friends and loves to help others.
She is DETERMINED!! Once she decides she is going to do something, she will do it. Of course that is until SHE decides she’s done.
She can play some hoops! I’m not just bragging because she’s mine. I’m telling ya. The girl is super fast and can shoot the rock. Watch out Upward, here she comes!
And, Jordan loves Jesus. I love to hear her talk about that fact that Jesus died for us and He is the most important thing in the world. There is nothing that makes a Daddy more proud than that.
So, that’s Jordan. I hope she has the most wonderful birthday ever. She sure deserves it!!
Happy Birthday Jordan. Daddy loves you!
