Sunday Night Update

What a day! Here are some random thoughts for the day. First of all, the message this morning was on “The Truth About Homosexuality”. The response was simply amazing. I believe our church is truly ready to hear and see God do WHATEVER He wants. I think that’s a pretty exciting place to be. Tonight we talked about how to be sexually satisfied in your marriage. I believe the majority of married people these days are not truly satisfied in their relationship. Tonight we learned that satisfaction is not simply about our sexual lives, but about the entire relationship overall. If we ever get that part straight our lives would be totally different.
Some things from today:
Our numbers were a little down today. I’m not sure if it’s the flu or the topic!
Worship today was awesome.
Our Staff pretty much rocks in every way!
I got to play outside with my kids this afternoon. I am way out of shape!
I have the coolest children in the world.
My wife rocks too!!!
My parents drove all the way from Texas to watch the girls play basketball yesterday. They’re amazing.
It’s great to be a part of a church that will cover the difficult issues.
I’m fired up to be a part of something only God can do.
I’m very excited about next weeks message on Grace! You do not want to miss that.
Something HUGE is coming April 5th. Be ready!!!
Gina ran a camera at XL tonight. How cool is that?!

hey, we have been working through the six topics covered in “UnChristian” which represents what young outsiders perceive about the church. well, one of them is that the church is “antihomosexual”. in fact, 91% of respondents stated that. so, we talked about it on a wed night, and the response was overwhelming. as we study the younger generation and try to figure out how to reach them, we HAVE to listen to them. my students want a balanced approach…what does the scripture say about homosexuality, but what does it say about how we are to engage them in spiritual matters. for too long, the church has only offered one solution…rejection. we have to wake up.
don’t forget it was president’s day weekend. some of your people might have had a three day weekend. perhaps they heard Charles was coming to town, too…always made me nervous
actually, that’s not true, because it usually meant several cases of diet coke would be delivered!!!
