9 Hours to Surgery

Posted on September 13, 2009 | Filed Under Family, West Rome, XL

Here we go people. We’ve been to the Sonic and now we’re watching football. What better way is there to plan for surgery.

God was good today at West Rome and XL. It is such a privelege to work with these two ministries. God is SO good to me.

Jordan turns 7!!

Posted on January 7, 2009 | Filed Under Family

WOW!!! Today, the 7th, is the day that my beautiful daughter Jordan turns 7. She is fired up about her birthday coming and I am fired up for her. She has such a beautiful spirit, when she gets excited about something it just brings excitment to everyone around her. She has such a joy in her heart that really shows at times like this.

Let me tell you a little about her.
She is Jordan Kay named after her Granny, and she actually shares her birthday with that same Granny. She really loves that.
She is a fire ball. She has more energy than anyone I have ever met. Then, we she lays down for about 1 minute at night, she’s gone. When she’s asleep you can’t wake her up, but once she’s up you can’t slow her down.
She cares about people. She loves her family and loves her friends and loves to help others.
She is DETERMINED!! Once she decides she is going to do something, she will do it. Of course that is until SHE decides she’s done.
She can play some hoops! I’m not just bragging because she’s mine. I’m telling ya. The girl is super fast and can shoot the rock. Watch out Upward, here she comes!
And, Jordan loves Jesus. I love to hear her talk about that fact that Jesus died for us and He is the most important thing in the world. There is nothing that makes a Daddy more proud than that.

So, that’s Jordan. I hope she has the most wonderful birthday ever. She sure deserves it!!

Happy Birthday Jordan. Daddy loves you!

My Wife Rocks!

Tiffany left town for the weekend to go to Mississippi to see Analisa with some friends. I was glad that she got to go because it knew it would be great for her to get out for a while with friends and just have a good time. For me, this meant that I would be with the children without her from Thursday to Saturday night. One of the major issues was that I had a wedding this weekend which meant I would have a rehearsal dinner on Friday night and the wedding on Saturday. Then, as the weekend went on, things just kept getting added to the schedule. We had a birthday that I had not remembered since Tiff was out of town and a bike ride where I needed to go pray. It was quite the amazingly busy day. Now, as I sit here with everyone pretty quiet, just about asleep, I am reminded of just how awesome my wife is. I go away two or three times a year and leave her with them for two or three days at a time, and she always handles it. Sometimes she even tells me to take time away so that I can study and prepare for future series. She’s just amazing. I am very thankful for her and the love that she has for me and our children. Well, she’s home now, so I’m out. I just thank God for my great wife!!!

Taylor’s Birthday

Posted on August 27, 2008 | Filed Under Family

Wow, I have an 8 yr old. I gotta tell ya, it’s amazing what God has already taught be through her in these 8 fast years. It’s true: Taylor turned 8 years old today. The sad part is that I’m not there. I had a chance to get away and study and plan for a couple of days and this is one of them. I’m sure that will cost me some ice cream when I get home. Now, about Taylor. She is tall for an 8 year old and we have great plans of her being on the USA Women’s Volleyball Team, after a few years of being the star at Texas A&M. I hope my goals aren’t too specific… Anyway, she is a beautiful young lady with a heart of gold. She loves people and loves to help others when she gets a chance. She makes friends very easily and has tons of them. She does a great job in school, even though she doesn’t always love to go. She is very smart and funny. That’s good because her Dad’s just funny, and only sometimes that.

The best thing about Taylor is that she has already given her heart over to Jesus Christ and tries to live for Him everyday. There is nothing, not even the Olympics, that will ever make me more proud of her than that. Her sister Jordan has also given her life to Jesus, but it’s not her birthday. She’ll get her own blog later.

So, for Taylor, if you’re reading this just know that Daddy loves you like crazy and he could not be more proud of who you are and what you’re becoming everyday. I hope you’ve had the happiest birthday ever in the world and I’m looking so forward to getting home to see you tomorrow. Now, be nice to Mommy and go to bed on time. HAHA!!

I love you Taylor. You make a Daddy proud!

Party Update

Posted on August 24, 2008 | Filed Under Family, Pointless Rambling, Uncategorized

Before I do the Sunday night report, I have to start with the birthday party update. I will say this right from the beginning, we will never be doing that again! Not that we don’t love all the children, we just don’t need ALL the children staying over at one time. I knew we were going to have a problem when I was in the garage digging through the trash for one girls glasses. Wow, what a beautiful thing that was. But, when you put 10 3rd grade girls together for about 12 hours, you know they can’t all get along. You can’t put 2 girls together for that long and have them get along, much less 10. So, all in all, the house is sill in one piece. although my recliner may have a little trouble, and everyone seems to have made it out alive. I’m just saying, if you want to have a sleepover party, limit it to about two friends. Not ALL of the friends.

One of my favorite conversations of the night went like this:
Christina Floyd: Mr. Jarrod, I’m hot.
Jarrod: Ok, what do you want me to do?
Christina: Well, make it colder.

You gotta love’em!

But, Taylor had fun and that’s all that matters really, right? There ya go.
