WOW!!!! That’s really all I can say. I truly believe that 21 is going to be a time that God uses to change us forever, and He definitely moved that way last night. We had our first (of many to come) Prayer and Worship Night last night at West Rome. It was awesome!!! And, not in the “hey, that word is way over used kind of way” but in the “I am sitting here in awe of God because of it” kind of way. He showed up last night and when we finished at 9:15 or so, most of us didn’t want to leave. There were people just sitting there talking and enjoying what had just happened. My words can’t describe it. Just an amazing night.

Some people to thank.

Ken Oates has been at West Rome for 35 years now and he’s been looking for a night like last night the whole time. Thank you Ken for seeking the Lord for alll those years to see last time finally come. It is only the beginning!

And then, Cliff, well, he just rocks! In the midst of all he does he was able to put together a service that followed the Spirit of God perfectly. Thank you Cliff for asking the Lord to plan last nights event so that He would have the freedom to move.

Sarah, thanks for putting that experience together. She told me that Beck helped her so, Becki, thanks for helping Sarah get the room looking like it did. It was all perfect. You ladies are the best!

Chris, thanks for driving all over town and ending up in Cartersville to get just the right bread for a very special night.

Kim, thanks for helping the kids continue to worship and pray together after they left the main room. I believe children will come to know Christ because of those prayers last night. There is nothing better than that.

Mandi, thanks for getting all the childcare ready for the Preschoolers. And, to all those workers that came and spent over two hours with our little ones, bless you.

Wes, thanks for having a huge heart and working like crazy to clean that place last night. Randy, thanks for all you will be doing today to get the Worship Center ready for tomorrow. Your entire team has such a heart for God and I love working with each of you. Thanks for always being willing.

Now for the rest of the Staff, that also put tons into last night, and to 21, thank you for your hearts. I know that it is great to see all of this begin to come together. I am fired up about where we’re headed.

For the Parking Lot workers that made sure we all got parked and in the building safely last night, thank you for your willingness to work on a very special night.

For Jennifer, Flip, Andy, Matt, Sarah, and Rebecca, superb job and I can’t thank you enough for your abilities and willingness last night. For Tom and Quinton too. I know you guys didn’t get to experience everything like the rest of us because you were all making it happen, so I thank you. Everything was great.

For all of you that helped clean up at the end, thank you. From Friday night to Sunday is a quick turn around. Thanks for being willing to do whatever.

AND, a huge thank you for all of you that simply showed up and enjoyed the night. I have to say that we really had no idea how many people would show up and I was very excited to see you last night. I think God was honored and we were blessed to be in His presence. Thank you for being a part of a wonderful night with the Lord.

And finally, thank you to the person that I forgot. I don’t know who you are, but you do, so this is your thanks. Once I remember, I’ll put your name in here and act like I didn’t forget.

I love you all and I look forward to getting to worship with you again Sunday morning. Come ready!!!

Before I do the Sunday night report, I have to start with the birthday party update. I will say this right from the beginning, we will never be doing that again! Not that we don’t love all the children, we just don’t need ALL the children staying over at one time. I knew we were going to have a problem when I was in the garage digging through the trash for one girls glasses. Wow, what a beautiful thing that was. But, when you put 10 3rd grade girls together for about 12 hours, you know they can’t all get along. You can’t put 2 girls together for that long and have them get along, much less 10. So, all in all, the house is sill in one piece. although my recliner may have a little trouble, and everyone seems to have made it out alive. I’m just saying, if you want to have a sleepover party, limit it to about two friends. Not ALL of the friends.

One of my favorite conversations of the night went like this:
Christina Floyd: Mr. Jarrod, I’m hot.
Jarrod: Ok, what do you want me to do?
Christina: Well, make it colder.

You gotta love’em!

But, Taylor had fun and that’s all that matters really, right? There ya go.

So, today I was reminded of how much of an honor it is to be a Pastor. At West Rome this morning, God showed up in a HUGE way. From the first words of the first song that our Worship Team lead us in, God was ALL over our time together. One of the most exciting things in the world to see happen as a Pastor is when your people truly get what you are teaching them. We have been doing a series on “God’s Amazing Grace” over the past few weeks. Listening to our church worship this morning, it is very obvious that they are truly getting a grip on God’s grace. Their spirit is beyond anything that I have ever seen. Our Worship Ministry is totally on every week and it is so real to them. You can just see it. You can tell that they believe everything that they sing. It is truly the best church in the world to be a part of. I was standing on the front row this morning just being amazed that God has called me to lead these people forward. God blew my mind and He continues to do so. I am so thankful for where my family gets to worship each week and all the cool stuff that I know God has planned for the future.

Then, tonight we get to go to XL. For the second week in a row we set a record for the largest attendance on any summer Sunday night. We had tons of new people and I have already heard about how God used the message to touch someone’s heart. That makes it all worth it. We had a great night with all kinds of four wheel vehicles stuck in the ditch out front and a huge rock climber on stage. The drummer was actually inside a tent on stage. XL has got to be the craziest most exciting thing I’ve ever been a part of and it rocked tonight. We had a whole new set and the set team did an awesome job!!! And, just to make sure we plug them: Ian Trapp played for us tonight and they rocked our faces off. Those guys are really great and if you have a chance to go see them somewhere, get there. They rock!!!

Well, that’s about it for today. God is awesome and I’m thankful to be a part of what He’s doing around here.
